Almost spring

Things are growing! We planted a ton of seeds in the ground, and the peas are already popping up.

The tulips have started sprouting, yay! I planted, I think, 45 bulbs. That was a lot of holes to dig. All sorts of pink, white, peachy colors if I recall correctly.

The lavender and the calendula never stopped blooming. I don't think they realized we had winter.

This... is possibly one of the best pictures I've taken of the dollhouse my papa and I made together. It's an octagonal tower, a wizard's tower, with battlements and a trapdoor and a round-topped front door you can't see from this angle, with real iron door handles that my father made. Three of the wall panels are hinged to fold away so you can access the inside easily, and they latch shut like a British style dollshouse to keep dust and curious kitties out.
In this particular shot, I've just pulled everything out and dusted the floors and put back empty furniture. The top floor won't actually have all that; it's more a rooftop garden than an attic. I bought museum wax so I can stick down all the little bits and bobs in a nonpermanent fashion.
Also! On the right side in the upper floor is a painting I made of a map of Middle Earth. You'll note the water is on the right; that's because I stuck the map up upside down. It's fixed now.
I still have lots of trinkets and rugs and mini food and such to fill it with.

Lastly, I started embroidering a border for a Norman English kirtle I'm making. The pattern is from the Bayeux tapestry, one of those little border details between all the fanciful animals. It's slow going, but I think it will look splendid.
